West Austin A Scenic and Upscale Oasis

Welcome to West Austin

West Austin is the scenic and rustic part of the city. It veers into the Texas Hill Country, and has an upscale vibe. If you have a family, there are plenty of great schools, parks and golf courses if you like to hit the links.

You’re within reach of Lake Travis and Lake Austin, so it’s fun for boating, hiking, and any other kind of outdoor activities. What makes West Austin so desirable is that you’re still part of the city, but without the hustle and bustle of being downtown.

If you’re looking for a good school for your kids, you’re in luck as West Austin is covered by the Eanes Independent School District (ISD). The Eanes ISD has six elementary schools, two middle schools and one high school, all of which have been rated as Exemplary. The district itself is one of just two 5A schools to receive this rating (2009).

West Austin’s geography starts with Barton Creek and Lake Austin in the North, and 290 and Barton Creek in the South. The eastern boundary is Lake Austin, while the western end is at the Travis County Line.
